We are working with Cruden Group to design around 240 new homes on the former Powderhall Waste Transfer Station site in Edinburgh. The new homes will be a mix of affordable homes for The City of Edinburgh Council and private homes that will regenerate the brownfield site into a sustainable new addition to the community of north Edinburgh.
The new homes will make the most of their location, situated on the banks of the Water of Leith next to St Mark’s Park and Redbraes Park, with excellent connections to the North Edinburgh off road cycle network. The development will have zero parking, to encourage cycling and use of public transport, and instead uses the space for a green street which enhances the biodiversity of the site and prioritises walkers, wheelers and cyclists, while opening up views of the adjacent listed Stables Building.
Pre-application consultations are currently taking place with the community and key stakeholders, with the plan to submit applications for Planning Permission later this summer. Our proposals can be seen until Wednesday 6 July at https://orbitconsultations.scot/powderhallresidential/
