Watch the Edinburgh Architectural Association award video capturing the wonderful stories of the people, places and impacts behind the shortlisted Residential Projects.
With over 30 years’ experience of designing public buildings, I am interested in how design affects the way people use buildings and feel about the institutions that occupy them. I am convinced that when we design architecture that works well, we make society better.
I like unusual projects which require critical thinking from first principles. I have degrees in both Architecture and Physics, and I am comfortable taking a strategic view across all design disciplines, challenging assumptions to ensure that conclusions are valid.
I am an RIAS-Accredited Conservation Architect, with a particular passion for bringing new life to old buildings through careful repair and conservation combined with sensitive contemporary interventions.
Outside work, I enjoy gardening and volunteering for my community on the Board of Tweedsmuir Community Company.
