We are pleased to announce that our Palm Houses project at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh has been shortlisted for the EAA Large Projects Award.
Part of the Edinburgh Biomes project, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s ambitious programme to protect its globally important plant collection, the project has seen the restoration of the Category A Listed 1836 and 1858 Palm Houses. The works included refurbishing the structures, replacing the glass and repairing the stonework.
This is a once-in-a-hundred-years conservation, addressing age-related deterioration and inherent shortcomings while preserving the historic character of these much-loved buildings.
Good luck to the other shortlisted practices!
