SSM are always ones to suffer for good causes and we again entered a team for the Buccleuch Property Challenge. Held at the Duke of Buccleuch’s Drumlanrig Estate, the event is now in its 10th year and has become something of a major focus for the property industry. SSM were one of 47 teams taking part.
Based on a forty kilometre mountain bike route the event includes challenges such as orienteering, archery, rowing and a one kilometre swim down the River Nith. The event always raises substantial sums of money for worthy causes. This year’s selected charity is Childline (www.childline.org.uk), who not only received welcome funds but entered a team for the event.
SSM team comprised of Alistair and Eugene, strengthened by Colin Rae of Places for People. A successful combination, we achieved a team personal best by finishing in 14th place.
