Eugene Mullan and Jarek Gasiorek presented Buccleuch Street, our PassiveHouse and Town Centre regeneration project, to over 100 people as part of the A&DS Towards Zero Carbon Places event last week.
The scene was set by a keynote speaker Patrick Harvie MSP, Minister for Zero Carbon Buildings, Active Travel and Tenants’ Rights with presentations from John Gilbert Architects, Civic Engineers, jmarchitects, Scottish Land Commission.
The panel discussed different aspects of Carbon Conscious Places looking at the challenges and practical solutions covering policy and legislation, placemaking and masterplanning, retrofit and embodied energy, Passive House and energy efficiency, just transition, town centres and many more.
The spectrum of subjects highlights how complex and multifaceted the Net Zero challenge is, which makes it even more important and engaging.
