The key aim of this project is to provide facilities of a high contemporary standard, deliverable in phases, the first of which is a multi-purpose sports hall with a viewing gallery, extensive natural light and an Olympic standard sprung sports floor.

Other proposed phases include a roof top gymnasium giving views of the Pentland Hills.
